"Gah!" muttered Taliat, "H-hold still!" The man kept shouting about Lucy and how she was in trouble. "Never mind this Lucy at the moment. You're not going to be much use to her if you're dead from blood loss." Taliat tried to hold the man's arm down, leaning on his body to keep him from struggling. He turned his head as far as he could to look at Eve.
"Are you the Lucy he's talking about? Even if you aren't, I would be very much obliged if you could try to convince this fellow to calm down."
He finally noticed that the hospital that had popped up around them. Shard was beyond his vision, but he could feel the coldness radiating from the icy being. A thought occurred to him.
"And you, sir!" he said, trying to turn around a bit more to address Shard. "Sir, if you could help me carry this fellow to a hospital room, I would be most grateful." Hopefully the Hospital was there to stay, and all the rooms contained medical equipment that he would need.

It was weird how quickly the hospital had appeared and how Shard had been able to help it along. Maybe they were all part of Shards dream, and just now Shard had been lucid enough to make a hospital to accomidate for the madman.
Eve winced at how loud that fellow could be. She had no idea who this Lucy character might be, though she had a good feeling that he might be referring to Eve herself. If he was delusional enough to cut himself, he was probably delusional enough to imagine that Eve was somebody else. She nodded at Shard.
"You know, I've heard your name before. And Union City. That sounds like something I read out of a comic book once." She looked down at Taliat and Axel. "We can chat more later, though. As you said, we gotta get this guy to one of these hospital rooms that you've set up."
Eve shut her eyes and took a deep breath before walking over to Axel and kneeling down beside him. Her eyes wandered to the hand with the knife, and she thought about trying to take it away. She chased that thought away; taking away his only means of defense -- in Axel's eyes, at least -- would probably send him into an even greater rage. For now, she kept her eye on it and rested on the balls of her feet so she could spring away at any moment.
"Hey," she said in the most soothing tone she could manage, "It's okay. That ice fellow isn't hurting me a bit. Try to calm down and let this gentleman over here stitch up that nasty wound in your arm, okay?"
Eve doubted this would work at all, but at least it was a worthwhile distraction that would probably allow Shard to pick the man up and move him into a room. She always kept her eye on the knife, though.

It was miraculous the way that the hospital was forming around the group. This was very similar to Union City's hospital. The biggest difference was the total lack of people. It was.... unsettling for a busy hospital to be so empty. Except for this small band of humanity, there were no signs of life.
The medic wanted help moving the injured human. Shard thought about this. He stood only as high as the man's thighs. Picking up the injured human was out of the question... But...
Shard skated down a hallway, his wake bringing more of the building into focus around him. He spotted his target, and grabbed the metal railing in his cold grip. The gurney moved on squeaking wheels. In moments the ice elemental had returned with the gurney to the band of humans.
"Place him on this. We can strap him down withe the leather straps if we have to." he turned his cold eyes on the injured human. "Or you can chose to stop struggling."
Something struck Shard. The woman had claimed he was a comic book character. That could not be correct, could it? There were likely to be comic books about him in Union City. Perhaps she was confused. Perhaps there was more going on here then it appeared.
"I assure you young woman, I am no 'character. I am a being made of sentience and form, just as you are."

"I don't doubt it," said Eve, looking down at her hand and flexing the fingers that were still cold from holding the needle. She looked back at the struggling man and said in her most calming tone, "Alright. We've just got to get you up onto the gurney and into a room so we can heal this arm of yours. I'll be with you, so don't worry."
She hesitated a little bit before placing a hand on Axel's arm. On the one hand, it might help him to relax, while on the other he could recognize that it was the touch of a stranger and flip out. Eve's eye darted to the knife once more.

The wheels of the gurney turning on the hospital floor was music to Taliat's ears. All he had to do now was try to lift the struggling man onto the device. He held the man's arm as firmly as he could and nodded to Eve. "On the count of three," he said, "we'll lift him onto the gurney." He slid his hand under the man's back, hoping to get a good grip on the man's back in order to hoist him upward.
"One, two... three!"
