Personality: Koi primarily focuses his life internally, dealing with situations with a mix of rationality and logic. He has a compelling drive to understand the way things work. He’s good at logical analysis, and likes to use it on practical concerns. He has strong powers of reasoning, although he’s not interested in theories or concepts unless he can see a practical application. He likes to take things apart and see the way they work.
Koi has an adventuresome spirit. He thrives on action, and is basically fearless (like most Sagittarians). He is fiercely independent, needing to have the space to make his own decisions about his next step. He does not believe in or follow rules and regulations, as this would prohibit his ability to do his own thing. His sense of adventure and desire for constant action makes him prone to becoming bored rather quickly.
He is loyal to his causes and beliefs, and although he does not respect the rules of the "System", he follows his own rules and guidelines for behavior faithfully. He will not take part in something which violates his personal laws. He is extremely loyal and faithful to his "brothers".
He likes and needs to spend time alone, because this is when he can sort things out in his mind most clearly. He absorbs large quantities of impersonal facts from the external world, and sorts through those facts, making judgments, when he is alone.
Needless to say, he is action-oriented. He likes to be up and about, doing things. He is not the kind of person to sit behind a desk all day and do long-range planning. Adaptable and spontaneous, he responds to what is immediately before him. He has an excellent sense of expediency and grasp of the details which enables him to make quick, effective decisions.
He avoids making judgments based on personal values - he feels that judgments and decisions should be made impartially, based on the fact. He is not naturally tuned in to how he affects others. He does not pay attention to his own feelings, and even distrusts them and tries to ignore them, because he has difficulty distinguishing between emotional reactions and value judgments.
When over-stressed, Koi may exhibit rash emotional outbursts of anger, or on the other extreme may be overwhelmed by emotions and feelings which he feels compelled to share with others (often inappropriately). When down on himself, Koi will foray into the world of value judgments - a place which is not natural for him - and judge himself by his inability to perform some task. He will then approach the task in a grim emotional state, expecting the worst.
He is excellent in crisis situations. He’s also athletic and has very good hand-eye coordination. He is good at following through with a project, and tying up loose ends. He didn’t have much trouble with school due to his introversion and logic. Overall, he’s a fairly patient fellow.

❁ Species Info ❁

Species Name: The Sagittarians
Description: Sagittarians in general don’t sport much variation in their appearances. Apart from slight changes in the structure of their armor plating and perhaps color differences in the carapaces of different members of the species, they tend to look fairly similar. Many of them will carve or tattoo designs into their faces for differentiation, but this doesn’t often happen until later in life, as the carvings and tattoos are usually permanent and in late life they’ve got an idea of what they really want to look like. Their hides are usually a pearly color, with red or blue accents in places where their blood runs close to the surface of the skin.
Sagittarians have fairly streamlined heads with a rather reptilian look to them. Many have scaly horns or protrusions emerging from the backs of their heads, but members of a certain genetic group have very smooth heads. These are known as Carpenters, creative individuals who tend to be much smarter (and much more potent in terms of their reproductive goop) and more spatially aware. Most of the technological achievements that can be credited to the Sagittarians were thought up by Carpenters.
The average height of a Sagittarian is roughly six feet, but the extremes are quite extreme. Some only grow to be around two feet tall, while others can be up to eight. Obviously specialty occupations are available to Sagittarians meeting these extremes. They tend to be on the thin side as well, but with their armor plating many of them turn out fairly intimidating.
The Sagittarians communicate using the vibrations and resulting echoes within a hollow bone situated at about where a human male would find his Adam's apple. The "voice" of the Sagittarian is dependent on the size of the echo chamber, though their voices tend to lean on the deeper end.
As far as Sagittarians go, Koi is a tad narrower than average, but his armor is also denser. He carries the color scheme almost patriotically, and the tattoos on his face can sometimes be misconstrued as representing an American flag. This was not his intent when he received his face. The top half of his face is blue, with white symbols carved in, while the bottom half fades between rich crimson and pale indigo.
Habitat: The Sagittarians hail from a planet on the other side of the galaxy from Earth. The planet, like the current Earth, has a heavy atmosphere of thick fog stemming from the high concentration of plant life; in all respects, the Sagittarian homeworld of Lethe is a garden planet. Once upon a time, biodiversity was great on the planet, with most creatures eventually developing intelligence, if not total sentience. The rise of the Sagittarians on the planet spelled the end of life as they knew it; now, most creatures on the planet now carry Sagittarian blood.
The landmass is relatively flat, with most of the water existing underground. Lower-lying areas are typically swamps, while higher altitudes produce some stunning alpine plant life. Some parts of the planet are constantly shrouded in darkness by the vast canopies, while seas of grasslands cover much of the planets’ several continents (separated by extensive marshes instead of oceans). Areas of high Sagittarian concentration bear the marks of the species; crystalline skyscrapers give Sagittarian cities a heavenly appearance, although the immense overpopulation has taken its toll on the poorer ones.
Pollution is nearly nonexistent, as the Sagittarians have long-since discovered methods of energy production that do not require it. Indeed, construction of their first Dyson sphere was well underway when the universe began collapsing all around them.
Diet: The Sagittarian diet consists largely of cultivated livestock. Agriculture is a booming business, with the Sagittarian drive to assimilate other creatures decimating most life viable for consumption. While they prefer the taste of meat, the poorer Sagittarians are able to survive healthily enough on a diet of plankton and algae skimmed from the surface of the swamps. Watering holes are a popular spot for the lower-class, while higher class Sagittarians are fit to purchase meats from ranchers. Land is a huge commodity on Lethe, but most of it has been claimed.
Strengths: The Sagittarians may be one of the most resilient and hard to kill species ever spat out by the universe. Genetically, they are almost impossible to stomp out; their reproductive method has caused most of the species’ on their planet to assimilate Sagittarian DNA into their own. In addition, their bodies produce a natural armor-like substance made of an organic material that seems to mimic tungsten carbide in its molecular assembly. Some mutations of the genes that create this material can cause beneficial growths, such as blades or claws. Their acute special awareness makes them hard to sneak up on, as well. All members of the species at around the age of 12 begin producing fertile gel-covered eggs from a pouch located in the groin at a rate of about an egg a week; due to the difficulty of destroying these eggs, population growth on Lethe is exponential. They mature within a couple of weeks, and once hatched, the babies grow to full-size (around six feet) within months. Mental maturation comes quickly, as well; most Sagittarians are viable members of active society by the age of four. In addition, the gel covering the eggs contains microorganisms not unlike squid in their appearance or movement style. These microorganisms invade cells and alter the genes in the cell nucleus, spreading Sagittarian DNA to other creatures, plants, etc. No organic life is safe from alteration, though the jury is out as to whether or not the alterations are ever bad.
Weaknesses: Their own bodies act as a sort of parasitic host for the aforementioned microorganisms. Sagittarians feel an overwhelming compulsion to “spread the seed,” if you will, to other species, and thus they are dictated by the desire to further the Sagittarian genetic legacy. Some argue that the Sagittarians are not the creators of this microorganism, but merely their most intelligent victims. Not enough study has been done to verify those claims. In addition, much of the plant life on Earth is harmful to Sagittarians, who have been known to set entire forests ablaze merely to create roads for themselves. Tobacco in particular is harmful to Sagittarians, and the scent of burning it is a surefire way to send them running.
